Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik disbursed 2,000 each to more than 53 lakh farmers across Odisha under KALIA scheme.

.Bhubaneswar:12/2/21:Odisha   CM Naveen Patnaik disbursed Rs.2,000 each to more than 53 lakh farmers across Odisha under KALIA scheme. A total amount of Rs.1,272 Cr has been disbursed among beneficiaries. CM said he wants farmers of his state to prosper & live with respect. CM said that the hard work of farmers has brought improvement in the agriculture sector and saved the economy despite COVID19. CM saluted their sacrifice and hard work and added that Odisha has been constantly working for the welfare of the farmers through various schemes.

On the occasion, CM discussed about KALIA assistance with farmers of various districts. Farmers mentioned how the assistance helped them & thanked the CM for rolling out the scheme. Speaking about MSP, CM said Odisha Govt has been repeatedly demanding the Centre to double MSP.

“The Odisha Government has been repeatedly demanding the Central Government to double the MSP. Various programmes have been initiated by the state government to strengthen marketing infrastructure for agricultural produce,” said Patnaik.

The KALIA scheme has been tailored to relieve the debt-ridden farmers from the debt trap, keeping a pragmatic vision to directly attack poverty by providing financial assistance to the vulnerable agriculture households, landless labourers as well as marginal cultivators of the state. KALIA scheme brings under its umbrella 92% of cultivators of the state and almost all needy landless cultivators, who can avail the benefits of this scheme through Direct Benefit Transfer mode.
