‘Nagarjuna Besha’ of the Trinity in Shree Jagannath Temple will not be held this year

Puri:9/2/21: The ‘Nagarjuna Besha’ of the Trinity in Shree Jagannath Temple will not be held this year. This was informed by Administrator (Rituals) of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Jitendra Sahu today.

Following a meeting of the Shree Mandir almanac meeting, the SJTA official said it was decided by the Mukti Mandap members and other stakeholders that the ‘Nagarjuna Besha’ will not be performed this year.

Devotees were unable to witness the Nagarjuna Besha of the Trinity as the temple remained closed for devotees in view of the pandemic last year. The live telecast of the rituals at the 12th-century shrine was also not allowed.

Only servitors and temple officials participated in the ritual on November 27, 2020.
