Bhubaneswar:16/1/21: Former AIIMS Director and SOA University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ashok Mohapatra received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at SUM hospital here today.

IMS and SUM Hospital, which was chosen as one of the centers for clinical trial of the Covid-19 vaccine – Covaxin– earlier, is in the list of six medical facilities selected in the capital city where the vaccine would be administered. Around 100 health care workers including doctors, nurses, paramedics and sanitation workers would be administered the vaccine on the first day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually rolled out the nationwide inoculation drive today morning.
