Monsoon Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly commenced with adherence to COVID-19 norms

Bhubaneswar: 298/9/20: The Monsoon Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly commenced today at 11 am with adherence to COVID-19 norms by MLAs and staffers. The session is scheduled to conclude on October 7.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and several MLAs attended the assembly session from different locations through videoconferencing. Video conference system has been installed at the residential office of the Chief Minister, offices of ministers, leader of Opposition and district collectors for this purpose.

Obituary references on the passing away of former President Pranab Mukherjee, MLAs Madan Mohan Dutta and Bishnu Charan Das, ex-ministers Haraprasad Mohapatra, Saharai Oram, Sanatan Bisi, Sk. Matlub Ali, former members Arjun Charan Sethi, Nelson Soreng, Rammurty Mutika, Rabindranath Bhoi, Abhimanyu Kumar, Chintamani Jena, several martyrs of the Indian Army and Odisha Police, and all COVID warriors of the state marked the onset of the session.

Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro then adjourned the House till 3 PM.
