IITTM Bhubaneswar celebrates the World Tourism Day by hosting the World Tourism Day Awards

Bhubaneswar:28/9/20: IITTM Bhubaneswar celebrated the World Tourism Day 2020 in its campus on 27, September 2020 by launching the first edition of the World Tourism Day Awards 2020 in a dignified ceremony, strictly adhering to the norms of social distancing. The annual World Tourism Day Awards launched by IITTM Bhubaneswar provide an opportunity to showcase and promote, encourage, and reward tourism excellence. It also recognizes outstanding contributions in different areas of community and society.

Contributions emphasize the awardee’s concern for the common good, willingness to give time and comfort, and the ability to draw together varied resources to solve problems, rather than technical competence. The Nodal Officer, Dr. Md. S. Hussain elaborated the significance of the occasion and deliberated upon the theme of the World Tourism Day: ” Tourism and Rural Development”. The Chief Guest, Dr. Sangita Gosain, CEO, Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre, Bhubaneswar emphasized the importance of recognition in motivating individuals to give their best.

Field of Media and Journalism: Ms. Diana Sahu


Field of Social Service: Mr. Khalilur Raheman Khan

Two awards were given to the outstanding employees of IITTM Bhubaneswar.

Field of Academics : Dr.B. Swajan

Field of Staff & Allied work: Pravati Pattnaik

The Co-ordinator of the program, Dr. Adyasha Das highlighted the contributions of each of the awardees. Mrs. Sareeta Pradhan delivered the vote of thanks.

Ashok Palit has completed his graduation from Upendranath College Soro, Balasore and post graduation from Utkal University in Odia Language and literture..
