Bhubaneswar:20/9/20: The Union Ministry for Culture and Tourism has initiated the Swachhata Hi Seva “Swachhata Pakhwada 2020” from 16th -30th September 2020. IITTM will be organizing different activities during this period – “Webinar” on Swachhata,   VC/meeting with field formations for the dissemination of information and to review the preparedness, in between and at the end of the Pakhwada,  activities to curb the use of  Single-Use Plastic (SUP) and discourage the use of plastic in the office, organising online competitions,  developing Information, Education and Communication (IEC) dissemination on better hygiene related to COVID-19, use of Social Media ( Face book, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) to generate awareness,  distribution of Mask, Sanitizers, Soap, and other safety-related products, As part of “Swachhata Pakhwada 2020” Campaign, IITTM Bhubaneswar had the inauguration of the campaign through a webinar on 16.09.2020


. The Chief Guest for this Webinar was Dr.Rosalin Patasani Mishra, Founder, and President of Parichay Foundation, a well-known Social Entrepreneur and Social Influencer. At the outset, Coordinator of this programme Dr.B.Swajan highlighted the relevance of this “Swachhata Pakhwada 2020” Campaign and briefed about the various events planned during this period. While inaugurating the webinar, Dr.Md.Sabir Hussian –Nodal Officer, IITTM Bhubaneswar spoke about the relevance and need of this campaign and explained about various initiatives taken by the institute in this regard. Mentor of the event, Dr.Adyasha Das, Associate Professor shared her thoughts on the significance of the campaign and its relevance in the pandemic scenario. The Chief Guest Dr.Rosalin Patasani Mishra delivered a wonderful lecture on the world-wide significance of Swachhata with video presentations on the various social activities being organised by Parichay Foundation. She reiterated the resilience of the tourism industry in reviving and attracting tourists to Odisha in the post-pandemic times. The Swachhata Pledge was administered to all participants. Faculty and staff members of all centers of IITTM were present for this event. 09 Students from all IITTM Centres spoke about the importance of cleanliness.
