Over 68,000 samples were tested for COVID-19 in Odisha in the last 24 hours

Bhubaneswar:23/8/20; Over 68,000 samples were tested for COVID-19 in Odisha in the last 24 hours as the state government continues to focus on improving the testing rate in the state to control coronavirus.

The State conducted 68906 tests in the last 24 hours.

As per data:

RT-PCR: 7585

Antigen: 61166

TrueNat: 155

This was informed by the State Health & Family Welfare Department today.

COVID-19 testing involves analyzing samples to assess the current or past presence of SARS-CoV-2. The two main branches detect either the presence of the virus or of antibodies produced in response to infection.

Achieving another significant milestone, Odisha has become the second state in the country to conduct the maximum number of Covid tests per day per million population.

Odisha is far ahead of the National Average that stands at 580, leaving behind many larger states in the country.
