Number of Covid-19 cases in Bhubaneswar crossed the 5000-mark after 277 new cases were detected today

Bhubaneswar:16/8/20: The number of Covid-19 cases in Bhubaneswar crossed the 5000-mark after 277 new cases were detected in the last 24 hours.

Of the total new cases, 181 are from quarantine centers while 96 are local contact cases. The Covid-19 tally in the capital city now stands at 5,119.Image

As many as 133 Covid-19 patients have recovered from the disease in the city in last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 3251. The city has 1839 active cases while 23 persons have so far succumbed to the disease.

Earlier in the day, Odisha reported biggest spike in coronavirus cases with 2496 persons testing positive for the virus. With this, the total COVID-19 tally in the State reached 57126.The State also registered nine more deaths due to the virus, taking the death toll to 333.
