Single-day spike of 53,601 Covid-19 cases and 871 deaths have been reported in India

New Delhi: 11/8/20:Single-day spike of 53,601 Covid-19 cases and 871 deaths have been reported in India, in the last 24 hours. The coronavirus tally has climbed to 22,68,676. This includes 6,39,929 active cases, 15,83,490 cured, discharged or migrated, the Ministry of Health said. The death toll, has meanwhile, risen to 45,257.

At present, India has 28.21 percent active cases, 69.80 percent cured/discharged/migrated and 1.99 percent deaths, as pet the Government of India.

  • Active cases: 639,929 (Net addition: 4,984)
  • Deaths: 45,257 (Net addition: 871)
  • Cured: 1,583,489 (Net addition: 47,746)
  • Total cases: 2,268,675 (Net addition: 53,601)

Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh have reported the highest number of cases. However, infections are rising rapidly in states like Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh.

As many as 20,246,580 people around the world have been diagnosed with Covid-19. While more than 13,107,360 have recovered, 738,695 have died so far.
