State-level Independence Day will be celebrated with the observance of the COVID guidelines

Bhubaneswar:29/7/20 The state-level Independence Day will be celebrated at the Unit-3 Exhibition Grounds with the observance of the COVID guidelines and maintaining social distancing norms, said Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy.

At a review meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan on Wednesday, the Chief Secretary said that his year’s Independence Day parade will not be held as usual and the Chief Guest will take salute from three police band troupes.

Due to the unprecedented situation following the COVID pandemic, the I-Day Celebration will be organized with the presence of a limited number of COVID warriors and guests. The programme will be telecast live from the ground through a common feed system, Tripathy said.

The Chief Secretary has directed the officials to oversee the arrangements relating to barricading, law and order, drinking water supply, and sitting circle.

The meeting was attended by Police DG Abhay, Principal Secretary, Home, Sanjiv Chopra, Special Secretary I&PR Sanjay Kumar Singh, PWD secretary Kishan Kumar, Police Commissioner Dr Sudhanshu Sarangi and Special Secretary, Home Santosh Bala.
