Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has served 7-day closure notice to two hotels

Bhubaneswar:14/7/20: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has served 7-day closure notice to two hotels at Kharabela Nagar here on Tuesday for COVID-19 norm violation.

At around 1 PM today, these two hotels, behind the BDA office, were found serving food to customers inside the dining space. Each was fined Rs.5000 along with closure notice for 7 days for violation of COVID norms.

After obtaining a satisfactory undertaking from the hotel owners,  Commissioner BMC would consider the opening of the hotels said ZDC Anshuman Rath.

Not following the SOP is a punishable offense in the context of COVID-19. Hence the team under ZDC SE zone has given closer notice for a wider benefit of citizens as well as to prevent the spread of the disease.

Public present during the hour were sensitised to support in preventing the spread of Coronavirus by Assistant Commissioner Milan Sahoo. Local police also supported enforcing the closer.
