Cuttack:27/6/20: Principal Secretary of Agriculture & Farmers Empowerment and Covid-19 observer for Cuttack, Saurabh Garg said 179 puja committees are engaged to combat coronavirus in the Silver City.
Garg said the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has formed 59 ward committees for such management.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Garg said that the CMC has also sought the cooperation of 179 puja committees and local area committees for combating the virus.
He said as many as 10 Rapid Response Teams have been constituted and each team is either being lead by an MBBS doctor or AYUSH doctor.
Garg said as many as 34 persons have been infected with the virus in the CMC area and so far while 21 of them have recovered. One person has died and the number of active cases stands at 12, he added.
Also, CMC Commissioner Ananya Das informed that of 5101 returnees, 3892 have completed home quarantine while 949 were kept in institutional quarantine. She said about 260 opted for paid quarantine.
