Odisha Governor has lauded the efforts of the government to effectively contain the spread of dreaded coronavirus

Bhubaneswar:24/6/20: Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal has lauded the efforts of the state government to effectively contain the spread of dreaded coronavirus.

Prof Lal exhorted the Odisha government to carry on the task with full vigour to banish COVID-19 from the state.

The Governor praised Odisha government for the establishment of temporary medical centres at gram panchayat level and conferring powers of district collectors to Sarpanches for the management of coronavirus pandemic.

He said Odisha government has been at the forefront of the coronavirus drive on its various aspects relating to awareness drive and taking measures for keeping the virus at bay.

Additional chief secretary, health, Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra presented the report of various activity relating to containment of coronavirus and outlined the measures for effective management of the health emergency.

He also informed that the government had successfully neutralised the impact of Amphan severe cyclonic storm and smooth conduct of Puri Rath Yatra.

The Governor was also apprised of different initiatives of  Odisha government by special secretary, health Archana Patnaik, NHM Managing Director Shalini Pandit, director of health and family welfare Dr Amarendranath Mohanty, joint director Dr Lokanath Patra and other senior officials.

The programme was also attended by Governor’s secretary Dr P K Meherda.
