EX-Bhubaneswar Door Darshan Director Baraha Mohanty passed away

Cuttack:15/6/20: EX-Bhubaneswar Door Darshan director  Baraha Mohanty passed away today at 9:30 am, Blue Line Hospital, Cuttack. He was the channel manager of DD News, DD Sports, DD northeast at Doordarshan Bhavan, Mandi House, New Delhi.

He was the only person who was simultaneously Director of AIR Cuttack, Doordarshan Bhubaneswar and staff training institute, Bhubaneswar. He was a trained professional in broadcast management from Thomson Foundation, Cardiff(UK) in 2000 and development in communication training of Sussex(UK),2002, at Dhaka. He did his Master’s Degree in economics from Ravenshaw College, Cuttack in 1968 and started his career as a lecturer in Aska college, Ganjam(1969-1975). Simultaneously he served as senior NCC officer (1971-1975) in Aska college.

Served at Akashvani from 1/12/1975-1988. During his service, he served at AIR Cuttack, Jaipur, Sambalpur, Kohima, Tura, Gangtok and Raipur. He served at Doordarshan from 15/09/1988 to till retirement on 30/04/2007.He was survived by his wife Prativa Mohanty, eldest daughter Pallavi Priyavadinee staying at Dallas, USA, 2nd daughter Purabee Priyadarshini staying at Vizag, youngest daughter Karani Kadambini Kar staying at Bhubaneswar, only son Biswanath Kalicharan(Bapu) staying at Bangalore

Started lectureship in Aska college , Ganjam(1969-1975). Simultaneously he served as senior NCC officer(1971-1975) in Aska college. Served at Akashvani from 1/12/1975-1988. During his service he served at AIR Cuttack, Jaipur, Sambalpur, Kohima, Tura, Gangtok and Raipur.

He served at Doordarshan from 15/09/1988 to till retirement on 30/04/2007.

He was survived by his wife Prativa Mohanty, eldest daughter Pallavi Priyavadinee staying at Dallas,USA, 2nd daughter Purabee Priyadarshini staying at Vizag, youngest daughter Karani Kadambini Kar staying at Bhubaneswar, only son Biswanath Kalicharan(Bapu) staying at Bangalore.
