Bhubaneswar:11/6/20: The Odisha Government has decided to install statues of prominent persons, who have excelled in different fields, on a priority basis.

This was decided by the Odia Language, Literature, & Culture department of Odisha govt. The concerned department’s minister Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi said this at a meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan on Thursday.

The minister said budgetary allocation has been made for the beautification of the places where the installment of statues will be done.

Panigrahi said the maintenance of the statues will be done every two years and added that a policy decision has been taken to install the statues of prominent persons and sons of the soil on a priority basis.

The meeting was attended by principal secretary, Manoranjan Panigrahi, director of culture, Bijay Kumar Nayak, secretary of Odisha Sahitya Akademy, Suchismita Mantri, secretary of Sangeet Natak Academy, Prabodh Rath, CEO of Odissi Dr. Sangeeta Gosain and senior officials.
