District Collectors of Odisha will now conduct stock verification at foreign liquor ‘OFF’ and ‘ON’ shops

Bhubaneswar:2/6/20: District Collectors of Odisha will now conduct stock verification at foreign liquor ‘OFF’ and ‘ON’ shops within a week and submit a report to the Excise Department.

In a letter, Principal Secretary, Excise, SK Lohani has directed for the same.

While conducting the stock verification as on the date of lockdown, it will be prudent to take into account the last stock lifting details prior to the lockdown from OSBC (available with Excise Officers), the daily average sales figures maintained by retailers as well as the details of home delivery executed during the current period, the letter read.

Notably, the state government on May 23 had allowed the home delivery of liquor except in the containment areas.

Reportedly, 50 percent‘ Special COVID Fee’ on the maximum retail price of liquor by amending the provisions under the Odisha Excise Rules, 2017, has been imposed.
