Odisha’s tally of coronavirus positive cases reached 672

Bhubaneswar:15/5/20: The State Health & Family Welfare Department shared the infographic on COVID-19 status of Odisha up to May 15 (9 AM).

As per available reports, Odisha’s tally of coronavirus positive cases reached 672.

Total Active- 511

  • Total Recovered-158
  • Total Deceased-3

 Even though 48 COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Odisha this morning, all the new patients except one were lodged in different quarantine centers following their returns from various states. And, the rest one patient is a close contact of a previous positive case and was under home quarantine.

The fresh cases are from Ganjam  (12), Balasore (12) and Jajpur (2) Bhadrak (6), Sundergarh (1), Puri (10), Nayagarh (3), Deogarh ( 1) and Cuttack (1).

Here’re the patients’ details:  

Surat returnees

Ganjam: 12
Puri: 10
Nayagarh: 3
Jajpur: 2
Balasore: 2

(All were lodged in different quarantine centres)

West Bengal returnees 

Balasore: 7
Bhadrak: 6 (Four from Dhamnagar and 2 from Basudevpur block. All of them were symptomatic)

(All were staying in quarantine centres)

Ahmadabad returnees

Sundergarh: 1
Deogarh ( Tileibani block) : 1
Cuttack (Niali) : 1

(All were in quarantine centres)

Maharashtra returnee

Balasore: 1 (He was quarantined at a TMC )

Delhi returnees

Balasore: 2 ( One was in a quarantine centre and another was under home quarantine)

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state mounted to 511 while the number of recovered patients now stands at 158. So far, three persons have died due to the respiratory disease in the state.

Yesterday, Government’s Spokesperson on COVID-19 Subroto Bagchi had informed that of the 86 people, who tested positive on Thursday, 84 were lodged in quarantine centres following their return from other states while two remaining were from containment zone.
