Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has placed orders for 20 coir ropes worth Rs 12 lakh

Puri: 13/5/20: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has placed orders for 20 coir ropes with Odisha Co-Operative Coir Corporation Limited (OCCCL). The orders for ropes comes at a time when preparations for Rath Yatra 2020 is moving ahead in full swing.

Source at SJTA said the temple in-charge for rituals (Neeti Prashasak) on Tuesday held a meeting with OCCCL in this connection.

The temple administration will procure 14 ropes for pulling chariots of the three deities while the remaining six will be used for cordoning nearby areas. The order is worth Rs 12 lakh.

The ropes will be prepared at Birapratappur factory of OCCCL near Chandanpur area. Nearly 15 persons will carry out the task of rope making with adequate precautions against COVID-19.

The OCCCL will supply the orders much before Snana Purnima.
