Bhubaneswar:13/5/20: Three flights carrying mostly Odisha people are scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar from Dubai, US, and Malaysia. As these people will fly here directly in a couple of days, the Odisha government has laid down guidelines for such operation, informed Odisha SRC at a press meet here today.
Special Relief Commissioner, Pradeep Kumar Jena said the returnees have to pre-register on the COVID-19 portal of Odisha government. The details of the passengers will be scrunitised and lists will be segregated district-wise, Jena added.
He said the list would be shared with district Collectors for preparedness. The Government of India has informed that three planes with maximum Odia passengers and a few from neighbouring states will fly from Dubai, USA, and Malaysia and arrive at Bhubaneswar.
For making the screening more effective, the passengers will disembark the plane in groups of 20, the SRC said and added that they would undergo a preliminary health check-up.
If anyone is found with COVID-19 symptoms, then he or she would be separated from the group and taken for further medical examination, he added.
Passengers with no symptoms can complete immigration and come out of the airport, Jena said and added that they have to use their own vehicles to go home.
After reaching their native places, these people will have to undergo home quarantine or paid quarantine for a period of 28 days. Those who violate the 28-day quarantine will be liable to face action under the Disaster Management Act, Epidemic Act, and the Indian Penal Code.
