Bhubaneswar:8/5/20: The Odisha Government has increased the mandatory quarantine period for returnees from 14 days to 21 days, informed Govt’s Chief Spokesperson on COVID-19, Subroto Bagchi.
Addressing the scheduled press meet at Geeta Govinda Sadan here this evening, Bagchi said, “As per scientific evidence observed so far, COVID-19 incubation period could be as high as 28 days & not 14 days.”
In view of this, mandatory (1st phase) quarantine period for persons returning to Odisha from other states has been increased to 21 days at government facilities. The returnees will also quarantine themselves at their respective homes the next seven days, he added.
