Noted screenwriter,dramatist and Jayadev Awardee Bijay Mishra passed away

Bhubaneswar:26/4/20:(Ashok Palit) Bijay Mishra, noted lyricist and screenwriter of Odisha, passed away at age of 83 at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar, said sources on Sunday. Mishra was conferred with the prestigious Jayadev Award for lifetime achievement and contribution to Odia film industry last year in the 3oth Odisha State Film Award.

Mishra has also directed a few films like Jajabara,  and “Rajanigandha” for which he has received the best screenplay and dialogue state awards. Mishra has also scripted more than 50 Odia films.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed deep grief at the passing away of noted dramatist Bijay Mishra .

” Mishra was a leading dramatist of the contemporary times. His contribution to Odia literature and Odia film industry is immense,” said Patnaik while conveying his deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

 A pioneer of modern theatre movement and playwright in Odia film industry, Bijay Mishra was a recipient of Odisha Sahitya Akademi and Kendra Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards. (For Details Biography pf Bijay Mishra please  log on Column segment of this news portal)
