Cuttack:19/4/20: The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of Meghalaya High Court Chief Justice Mohammed Rafiq as Chief Justice (CJ) of Orissa High Court.
Justice Sanju Panda is currently the Acting Chief Justice of Orissa HC. The decision to the effect was taken by the highest court of the land’s collegium on April 18. Justice Mohammed Rafiq enrolled as an advocate at the Bar Council of Rajasthan in 1984. He was elevated to the bench of Rajasthan HC in May 2006. The Supreme Court Collegium has also recommended that Allahabad High Court judge Justice Biswanath Somadder be appointed as Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court. Justice Rafiq was sworn-in as Chief Justice of Meghalaya HC in November last year.
