COVID-19 positive cases in Odisha stands at 44 :Subroto Bagchi

Bhubaneswar:9/4/20: Out of 2841 samples tested so far the number of COVID-19 positive cases in Odisha stands at 44 and 106 persons are under Hospital Isolation, informed Odisha Government’s Spokesman Subroto Bagchi.

Addressing a regular presser here this evening, Bagchi informed that the two persons have already been cured and discharged from Hospital and there are 41 active cases in the state with one casualty due to COVID-19.

Bagchi said, “Tracing as well as surveillance is being carried out on the contacts of 2 COVID-19 positive patients tested today. ”

COVID-19 Spokesman also outlined the steps taken by the state government to combat the COVID-19 related crisis. He said: “A 100 bedded COVID Hospital has started functioning today in the Hostel of Centurion University in Gajapati District, with joint collaboration of Odisha Hydro Power Corporation and Hi-tech Medical College. Along with these beds in COVID Hospitals at Cuttack, Jajpur, Keonjhar (Joda), Puri, Rourkela along with two hospitals in Bhubaneswar have reached 1597.

Further, he said that the Chief Minister has extended his thanks to the Doctors who have registered themselves voluntarily to provide Telemedicine Service.
