Odisha government decided to put the entire state under lock down from midnight today

Bhubaneswar: 24/3/20:To fight the coronavirus in an effective manner by enforcing social distancing, the Odisha government decided to put the entire state under lockdown from midnight today.

This was informed by Odisha Government’s COVID-19 Spokesperson Subroto Bagchi today.The lockdown, starting from midnight will remain in force till March 29.The populace of the state has been earlier warned that police will act tough against those found roaming on the roads without any concrete reason.The Odisha Government extended its lockdown of districts from five to 14 on Monday.

The notification from the health department stressed on the imperative to adopt strict social distancing and isolation measures. Nearly 3699 people, returning from abroad after March 3, had registered themselves on the state government portal as of March 23. In a day, between 7 am of 22 March and the morning of 23 March, 9677 calls had been made to the 104 helpline.
