Bhubanaeswar:17/3/20: The transport depart of Odisha government on Tuesday ordered the suspension of all the tests for for obtaining Learners Licence (LL) and Driving Licence (DL), scheduled to be conducted between March 18 to 31.
This order was passed in view of spread of the novel Coronavirus.
In a letter to all the regional transport officers (RTOs), the transport commissioner said, “Novel Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) has become pandemic and the whole world is affected by the deadly virus.”There is no specific treatment or vaccine till now for COVID-19 and only precaution of the highest degree is required to decelerate the spread of COVID-19.”
“Huge rush is noticed in RTOs for obtaining DULL. As per Government directive, large gatherings need to be avoided to check the spread of this disease. Hence it is ordered to suspend all DL/LL tests scheduled to be conducted between 18.03.2020 to 31.03.2020,” the letter reads.Earlier in the day, the State Police advised all the Superintendent of Police (SP) and DCPs to suspend the use of Breath Analysers Test, which is used to check drunken driving, till further order.
