Former Odisha MLA Anup Sai remanded in police custody for three days

Bhubaneswar:19/2/20 The Raigarh Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) today allowed the Chakradhar Nagar Police to take BJD leader and former Brajrajnagar MLA Anup Sai on a three-day remand.

The three time legislator from Odisha was arrested by Chhattisgarh police on February 13 for his alleged involvement in the murder of a mother-daughter duo in 2016.

As per reports, police have prayed before the court seeking seven-day remand of Sai for interrogation. Besides the court granted one-day remand of Bardhan Toppo, driver of the former MLA who was also arrested in connection with the double murder.

Bodies of the mother-daughter duo were found in a forest in Raigarh district in May 2016.
