Politicians or the local MLA were not inducted in the governing body of the degree colleges

Bhubaneswar:23/1/20: The state government has warned government college lecturers imparting private tuitions of strict action.

Addressing a programme convened by Odisha Parents Association, Higher Education Minister Arun Sahoo said that lecturers employed by the State Government are not allowed to work as private tutors or associate themselves with coaching centres.

The Minister urged the parents to bring such matter under the notice of the department after which necessary action will be initiated against the concerned lecturers.

Besides the department has also decided not to include politicians or the local MLA in the governing body of the degree colleges  “We will induct academicians, educationists and persons who have experience in management as the presidents of the college governing bodies. A formal notification in this regard will be published soon,” said the minister.
