Make in Odisha Conclave 2020 to be held between Nov 30 & Dec 4 ,2020

Bhubaneswar:22/1/20: The State delegation organised Odisha Textiles & Apparel meet at Taj West End, Bengaluru which was attended by more than 25 companies from the sector. Hon’ble Minister, Industry, MSME, Energy & Home Captain Dibya Sankar Mishra made the keynote address and described the vision for apparel and textiles sector development in the State.

He expressed how the State has changed over the past 2 decades under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. He discussed the availability of quality, skilled workforce in the State for apparel industries. He also discussed the proactive, stable and transparent governance in the State. He mentioned that the cost of doing business in the State is one of the lowest in the country and welcomed all participants to visit Odisha to explore the possibility of setting up a manufacturing base in the State.

n addition, the State delegation comprising Principal Secretary, Industries, MSME & Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts  Sri Hemant Sharma, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, I&PR, SD&TE & CMD IDCO,  Sri Sanjay Kumar Singh, and MD, IPICOL  Sri  Nitin  Jawale also held 1-1 meetings with 20 companies spanning across various sectors including food processing, auto components, apparel, downstream to metal, plastics & petrochemicals, aerospace & defence etc. The State delegation described the business ecosystem in the State, policy framework and investment opportunities for the companies.

This event was organised as a lead up to the Make in Odisha Conclave 2020 to be organised in the State during Nov 30- Dec 04, 2020. Representatives from Shahi Exports, Page Industries, and Aditya Birla Fashion shared their experience of investing in the State.
