Naveen Patnaik flagged off a special train under Baristha Nagarika Tirtha Yatra scheme

Bhubaneswar:13/12/19:Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik flagged off a special train from Baleswar to Haridwar-Rishikesh through video conferencing, under Baristha Nagarika Tirtha Yatra scheme. The train is carrying 970 senior citizens from Baleswar, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur and Kendujhar with 30 Escort Officers.


The scheme, started in 2016 by Department of Tourism, Odisha in cooperation with IRCTC has so far fulfilled wishes of 12,000 senior citizens to visit religious places across the country. In 2019-20, three more pilgrimage trips are planned from Berhampur, Sambalpur and Bhubaneswar.
