New Delhi, 12/12: All the review petitions challenging the Ayodhya judgement were rejected by the Supreme Court of India. The apex court had ruled that the Ram temple would be constructed on the disputed land and 5 acres of land would be allotted elsewhere for the construction of mosque.
Out of 18 review petitions, nine were filed by parties who were parties in the previous litigation while “third parties” have filed nine other petitions.
A five-judge bench headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde heard the review petitions in closed chamber and rejected them on the ground that these petitions devoid of merit.
