IFFI 2019 to begin in Goa tomorrow

Newdelhi:19/11/1(:The International Film festival of India, IFFI, starts in Goa tomorrow.

Panjim is set to witness a glowing opening ceremony of the 50th edition of IFFI. It will showcase remarkable films from across the globe for over ten thousand delegates.

Apart from this, the festival will host Masterclasses and In conversation sessions by the best in the field of cinematic arts.

More than 30 Masterclasses and In Conversation sessions will acquaint delegates with the nuances of cinema at the 50th IFFI. This is the first time that such a high number of these sessions will be held.

The festival will see sessions on all the traditional aspects of cinema like Acting, Direction, and editing. Sessions on Music and Dance are also expected to draw large crowds.

IFFI Lifetime Achievement award winner, French actor Isabelle Huppert will be conducting a masterclass entitled The Actor’s Connect.

Bengali stalwart Prosenjit Chatterjee will show audiences the Nuances of Acting. He has over three decades of experience in the field, with films like Choker Bali to his name.

Multilingual actresses from the South, Rashmika Mandanna and Nithya Menon will also share their experiences. During Conversation, they will talk about being cast as a “Leading Actress”. The Art of Visual Effects” promises to be an exciting Masterclass by V. Srinivas Mohan- a National award winner in the field.

The Musical Maestro, a masterclass with the legendary composer Ilayaraja is also set to enthral audiences. The prolific composer has scored over a thousand films!  Japanese director Takashi Miike will also share where he gets his offbeat ideas during the In-Conversation session.

It is aptly called The Legendary Filmmaker. He is well known for violent films like Audition.  Equally apt is the session, The Hit Machine, with director Rohit Shetty.

The filmmaker has made commercially successful masala films like Golmaal and Singham. The Masterclasses and In Conversation sessions will truly be the silver lining at the Golden IFFI.
