Centurion University conferred an honorary doctorate degree to Actor Kamal Haasan

Bhubaneswar:19/11/19: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday conferred an honorary doctorate on actor-politician & Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) founder-president Kamal Haasan at convocation  function of  Centurian university ,in Bhubaneswar.

Addressing the event Patnaik said, “I am delighted to be here today to attend this special event and to confer an honorary doctorate on Kamal Haasan, a towering personality of Indian cinema. We are very delighted for his presence here. Haasan is a legend who has served the nation throughout his life through art, cinema and humanitarian works. He has made many new experiments in cinema. His silent movie Pushpak has been hailed as an all-time great in the world of cinema. I am informed that he has turned his fan club into an organisation for humanitarian activities. This speaks volumes about his commitment to human values. I wish him success in all his endeavours.”The CM further stated that “technical education and vocational training has been at the forefront of our approach for economic planning and sustainable growth of our state. This focused approach has made Odisha a leader in skill training in the country and “Skilled-In-Odisha” is emerging as a global brand.”
