‘Mo Bus’ service ‘in Odisha Capital completed one year

Bhubaneswar: 6/11/19:‘Mo Bus’ service operating under Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) completed one year. On the occasion Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today took a ride in the city bus from Biju Patnaik Airport Square to Jaydev Bhawan.

In one year, the bus service has turned as the go-to mode of transport for the common man in the city & continues to expand its reach, having crossed over 1 lakh daily ridership. Cities are expanding, the population is on a rise, the traffic has surged and the mobility of commuters has increased. All these have led to an increase in pollution, the Chief Minister said.

“Of course we are in a better position in comparison to other States. But we have to plan from today. That is why it is important to strengthen the public transport system,” Patnaik said.

Congratulating CRUT authorities on the achievement, Naveen said that timely service and the safe journey has to be ensured. “We have been able to develop ‘Mo Bus’ into a model transport service. I am confident that we can deliver better than other metro cities,” he added.
