Odisha Government sanctioned Rs 5 crore in the first phase for development of Swargadwar, Puri.

Bhubaneswar:2/11/19: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today sanctioned Rs 5 crore in the first phase for development of Swargadwar, Puri.

The amount will be spent from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF). The Phoenix Foundation will take up the development works. Decission to this effect was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister at the Lokseva Bhavan here.

Arrangements will also be made to facilitate cremation all throughout the year while restsheds will be constructed for pallbearers.

The development work will be completed within six months from the start of the project.

Among others, Panchayati Raj Minister, Sports and Youth Services Minister, Development Commissioner were present.

Bodies from across the State are taken to the crematorium, known as Swargadwar, for cremation.
