Odisha State-level Independence Day parade will be held at the Exhibition Ground at Unit-III

Bhubaneswar:6/8/19: The State-level Independence Day parade which is celebrated every year on August 15 will be held at the Exhibition Ground at Unit-III, informed Twin City Police Commissioner on Tuesday.

Informing the media persons, Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said, “The State-level Independence Day parade will be held at the Exhibition Ground here instead of Mahatma Gandhi Marg”.

Moreover, only four troops including Territorial Army, Telangana Police, Central Armed Police, Odisha Special Armed Police will participate in the event, Police Commissioner said.

Reportedly, the government had shortlisted three alternate venues – Janata Maidan, Kalinga Stadium and Unit-III Ground for the I-Day parade.

Notably, on Saturday, a team of police officials comprising DGP Dr. RP Sharma, Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty and DCP Anup Sahu had inspected the Exhibition Ground.
