Venue for Odisha state-level Independence Day parade is likely to change this year

Bhubaneswar: 3/8/19The venue for state-level Independence Day parade here is likely to change this year.

As per sources, DGP RP Sharma along with other senior police officials today visited three alternate venues for the I-Day parade and conducted inspection. The three alternate venues are- Exhibition Ground, Janata Maidan and Kalinga Stadium.

The DGP also had a discussion with other police officials on security arrangements and traffic management in accordance with the changed location.

It may be mentioned here that the state-level parade on Independence Day and Republic Day is held at Gandhi Marg here every year. Elaborate arrangements are made for security and smooth management of traffic to the parade venue.
