Odisha Government will introduce electric bus service in the State soon

Bhubaneswar:20/7/19: The State Government will introduce electric bus service in the State soon.

Science and Technology Minister Ashok Chandra Panda today informed the Assembly that the State Government is contemplating to start electric bus service in big cities like Bhubaneswar, Puri and Cuttack.

Responding to question on air pollution in urban areas, the Minister said that the State Government will sign a MoU to implement the facility.

“In order to promote clean and green energy, we will soon introduce electric buses within 100 km range in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Puri,” informed Panda.

Notably, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharam while presenting annual Budget recently said announced reduction of GST on electric vehicles.
