Restoration works at Puri and Bhubaneswar railway stations have been completed

Bhubaneswar:14/7/19: Restoration works at Puri and Bhubaneswar railway stations have been completed successfully after the devastation by cyclone Fani, Railway Board Chairman VK Yadav informed today.

Yadav said that Khurda Road railway division will soon be felicitated for their efforts in tackling the post-cyclone Fani destruction.

Addressing a presser, he also informed that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the railways and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for real-time train information system (RTIS).

The Railway Board Chairman added that two new platforms will also be built at Bhubaneswar railway station soon.

He also stated that CCTV surveillance and WiFi facilities will also be installed in all the railway stations by September this year. E-catering services will also be operational within the next six months, added Yadav.

Notably, the Railways joined hands with ISRO for effective use of space technology tools for accurate train tracking thus heralding a new era of application of advanced communication and information technologies in various Railway related activities.
