Case has been filed against Rayagada MLA Makaranda Muduli for allegedly submitting false affidavits regarding his caste

Cuttack:3/7/19: A case has been filed against Rayagada MLA Makaranda Muduli (Independent)for allegedly submitting false affidavits regarding his caste.

One R Harish of Rayagada filed a case against Muduli in the Orissa High Court alleging that the MLA had furnished divergent information regarding his caste in the affidavits ahead of the State Assembly polls.

The petitioner alleged that though tribal status was yet to be given Jhodia community, how Muduli got a caste certificate and fight the election and won.

He demanded that Muduli’s election be declared null and void.

Muduli, 46, withstood both the ‘Naveen’ and ‘Modi’ waves to end up becoming the lone Independent to enter the Odisha Assembly in the recently concluded elections.

Securing 52,752 votes, Muduli defeated his nearest BJD rival and former Minister Lal Bihari Himirika by a margin of 4,839 votes.
