Centre constitutes body for implementation and monitoring of recommendations of Committee on Doubling Farmer’s Income

Newdelhi:2/07/19:Centre has constituted an Empowered Body for implementation and monitoring of the recommendations of the Committee on Doubling Farmer’s Income. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said this in the Lok Sabha while replying to supplimentaries during Question Hour.

He said the Inter-ministerial committee on Doubling Farmer’s Income submitted its report to the Government in September last year. Mr Tomar said the Committee on Doubling Farmer’s Income has stressed on agriculture market reforms, price support system for farmers, reducing input cost for farming, soil health, irrigation management, risk management with respect to crop loss. He also said that various initiatives for Farmer’s Doubling Income have already been rolled out.
