BJD president has announced the name of the candidate for the by-elections on three Rajya Sabha

Bhubaneswar :21/6/19: BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced the candidature of Amar Patnaik, Sashmit Patra and Ashwini Baishnab for the by-elections on three Rajya Sabha seats which has become vacant post the Lok Sabha and assembly elections.

Three vacant had fallen seats in Odisha after the members of upper house Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Achyut Samant and Pratap Keshari Deb won assembly and Lok Sabha polls.

Amar Patnaik, the former principal accountant general, headed BJD’s Information Technology cell, Sashmit Patra was officiating as one of the spokespersons of the party.

BJD chief Patnaik sprung a surprise by nominating Ashwini Baishnab, a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer whois candidate from BJP and supported by BJD ,which create  a dramatic equation Between center and state
