Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi called on Odisha Chief Minister

Bhubaneswar:4/6/19; IAS officer-turned-politician and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi today called on Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Secretariat here today.

Calling the meeting “a courtesy call”, the newly-elected MP said: “It was a beautiful discussion (with Naveen Patnaik).”

“It was a courtesy call. I congratulated him on his election as the Chief Minister of Odisha for the fifth time in succession. Besides, I assured him, as a Parliamentarian, that I will extend all kinds of support to the state government for the development of Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha segment,” Sarangi told reporters soon after her meeting with Patnaik here this evening.

Sarangi who had earlier said she will make Bhubaneswar the Parliamentary constituency of the country, said “development has no political affiliation and we have to work together.”

Sarangi, who contested the election on a BJP ticket after taking voluntary retirement, won the Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat, a bastion of ruling BJD, defeating BJD’s Arup Patnaik, former Commissioner of Mumbai Police.
