Sonia Gandhi was re-elected as the leader of the Congress Parliamentary Party

Newdelhi: 1/6/19:Sonia Gandhi was re-elected as the leader of the Congress Parliamentary Party at a meeting of the newly-elected Congress Lok Sabha MPs in New Delhi today. Her name was proposed by former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and supported by all MPs. Congress President Rahul Gandhi thanked the voters and Congress workers. Talking to reporters, party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said the MPs will chalk out the party strategy for the upcoming session of Parliament.

Our Correspondent reports that this is the first official meeting that Mr Gandhi had after the party’s working committee meeting held on the 25th of last month, where he offered to quit as Congress chief. The  Congress Working Committee had rejected his offer to resign and unanimously passed a resolution authorizing him to bring structural changes in the party at all levels.
