Fani is expected to make landfall in Puri at around 5.30 pm on May 3

Bhubaneswar:1/6/19: Special Relief Commissioner Bishnupada Sethi today informed that the extremely severe cyclonic storm Fani is expected to make landfall in Puri at around 5.30 pm on May 3.

“As per the IMD prediction, cyclonic storm Fani is expected to make landfall at 5.30 pm in Puri,” said Sethi.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today reviewed the cyclone Fani preparedness at the Secretariat here.

 Chief Minister said every life is precious and directed the admin to ensure 100 per cent evacuation in the vulnerable areas.

He also emphasied on early restoration of power, water supply and road communication in cyclone affected areas.

As per the latest IMD bulletin, Cyclone Fani is expected to make landfall at Balukhanda near Puri coast with a wind speed of 175kmph and gusts of 205kmph.

After landfall, the cyclone would pass through Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore and Mayurbhanj before moving to West Bengal.
