IIT BHUBANESWAR TO PARTNER WITH ASSOCIATION FOR OVERSEAS TECHNICAL COOPERATION AND SUSTAINABLE PARTNERSHIPS (AOTS), JAPAN

 BHUBANESWAR:10th  April, 2019, IIT Bhubaneswar is going to partner with Association for Overseas Technical Co-operation and Sustainable Partnerships ( AOTS), an organization for human resources development to promote technical co-operation. The  AOTS  is  established  under  the  Japanese  Government,  Ministry  of  Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and currently functions as their policy implementations organizations in the field of Industry and HR Development in developing countries as well as implements some self-sustainable-social business based projects in co- operation with Japanese companies.

While welcoming the delegates, Prof. R.V. Rajakumar, Director, IIT BBS said, “The partnership will have a strong focus towards professional development of students, creation of multiple academic and business opportunities, including events to promote education, internships and employment for students. We would want to explore  the  broader  -options  beyond.  The  synergies  are  going  to  be  greatly beneficial for the both the nations for their new technological developments which will be of paramount importance. IIT Bhubaneswar would also explore collaboration in areas like Robotics, Augmented and Virtual Reality, Energy Climate Change and other areas”

Also present at the discussion were Prof. R.K. Panda, Dean (R & D) and Head of School of Infrastructure, Prof. Sujit Roy, Head of School of Minerals, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Prof. Swarup Kumar Mahapatra (Dean, Continuing Education, Dean Alumni Affairs & International Relations), Dr. Sandeep Pattnaik, Head, School of Earth, Ocean and Climate Sciences, Dr. Arun Kumar Pradhan, Head, Career Development Cell, IIT Bhubaneswar.

To start with, AOTS will be establishing the projects to bridge Japanese companies and students of IIT Bhubaneswar  through Japan Desk, Japan Week and Japan Languages training. Japan Desk will locate one Japanese-native person to help to connect between Japanese companies and IIT students. Japan week will have company introduction seminars and placement fairs for IIT Students from Japanese companies. Japan language classes along with Japanese Soft Skill program especially for IIT Students to provide them valuable insights about Japan and their organizations. There will be a dedicated Japanese desk where the students can approach for knowing more on the Japanese companies.

In addition, there would also be planning business to business, research to research and Business and Research bridging projects which will serve IIT Bhubaneswar and Japanese companies and Universities along with helping both the nations.
