Biju Janata Das President Naveen Patnaik declared candidates for 18 assembly seats in upcoming polls.

Bhubaneswar:29/3/19: Chief Minister and Biju Janata Das President Naveen Patnaik today declared candidates for 18 assembly seats in upcoming polls.

While majority of those nominated are old faces, Patnaik in a strategic move has nominated Sambit Routray to contest from Paradip seat earlier represented by his arch political rival Damodar Rout.

Rout who fell out with Patnaik was earlier expelled from BJD on alleged anti-party activities. Later Rout had joined BJP to settle political score with Patnaik.
