Bhagirathi Sethi deserted the saffron party and rejoined the Biju Janata Dal

Bhubaneswar:29/3/19: Even after getting a BJP ticket to contest the ensuing polls from Anandapur assembly seat, Bhagirathi Sethi deserted the saffron party and rejoined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today.

Sethi, along with hundreds of his supporters, joined the ruling party in presence of BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas here this afternoon.

In his media reactions, the senior leader said that he decided to quit BJP due to infighting in the party and conspiracy against him. He also said that this is his homecoming to the BJD family.

On the occasion, BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik said, “I am glad that Bhagirathi Sethi has returned to the Biju Janata Dal. His rejoining will strengthen the party.”

Notably, Bhagirathi Sethi had resigned from BJD in 2014 to join the BJP as he was unhappy over activities of party functionaries in Keonjhar district
