Dharmendra Pradhan questioning BJD president Naveen Patnaik about his role in allocating coal blocks

Bhubaneswar:28/3/19: BJP leader and union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday sharpened his attack on Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik by questioning his role in allocating coal blocks to an unregistered company.

Patnaik was subjected to interrogation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on November 25, 2017, in connection with a coal block allocation case. It’s high time Patnaik volunteers to make a public statement as he always flaunts probity and honesty in public life, Pradhan alleged briefing reporters here today.

Quoting the contents of a petition filed in the apex court, Pradhan alleged MS Central collieries Co Ltd & Ors (Nagpur) was awarded the Takli-Jena-Bellora coalfield in Maharashtra in 1998, even before its registration. Naveen Patnaik was the then Union Minister of Mines thus making his role questionable.

Odisha people have the right to know the alleged coal block improprieties. Patnaik should let the people inform whether he was interrogated by CBI in this connection. BJD chief has also perpetrated yet another impropriety by not furnishing the coal block case in the affidavit filed by him during the filing of nomination papers, he charged.
