Subash Chouhan joined BJD at Naveen Niwas

Bhubaneswar:27/3/19: Senior leader Subash Chouhan, who had resigned from the BJP on Tuesday after being denied Bargarh Lok Sabha ticket, formally joined BJD at Naveen Niwas today.

Chouhan was inducted to the party fold by Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik. Patnaik assured that Chouhan will be given a good position in the party.

Chouhan was the vice-president of the party’s Odisha unit. The BJP has this time fielded the party’s national general secretary Suresh Pujari from the Bargarh Lok Sabha.

 Chouhan, a RSS man since three decades, was denied a BJP nomination to contest from Bargarh Lok Sabha seat from where he had polled over 3.72 lakh votes in 2014. However, he lost to BJD’s Prabhas Kumar Singh by a margin of 11,178 votes.
