Congress declared candidates for four assembly seats while replacing candidates in two seats.

Bhubaneswar :25/3/19: Congress on Monday declared candidates for four assembly seats while replacing candidates in two seats.

Biren Senapati has been nominated to contest from Rourkela assembly seat replacing Muktikant Biswal declared earlier as Congress’s nominee.

Biswal is learnt to have declined the ticket offer.

Ramakrushna Panda who was earlier announced as nominee for Hinjili assembly seat was replaced by Sambhunath Panigrhi. Chief Patnaik Naveen Patnaik is seeking re-election from the seat for the fifth.

Ramesh Purohit and Shaymghan Pradhan are nominated to contest from Patnagarh and G. Udaygiri seats, a release said,

The Congress has so far announced candidates for eight Lok Sabha seats and 79 Assembly constituencies.

Elections to 21 Lok Sabha seats and 147 Assembly constituencies will be held concurrently in the state in four phases – on April 11, 18, 23 and 29.
